Why does my computer crash with sound recorder?

Okay so i’ve asked this once and got several answers which didnt work..
okay so when i click sound recorder
a pop up box opens saying an audio recording device cannot be found
then i click after i click ok anthoer pop up opens says this computer cannot play audio. because the windows audio service is not enabled would you like to enable the windows service i clicked ok
then in the sound box theres a tab named rocrding. then in that tab theres three things microphone working/line in not plugged in and stero mix disabled when i try to enable it nothing happens.. and i can only get into the sounds box when am running safe mode otherwise the computer just freezes up on me..

my computer is a acer aspire 5920G
please some one help me out here

i have windows vista and i think my sound card is a realtek high definiation audio.
when i use windows uodate driver software it will come back with saying my driver is update.

    Your computer might not be compatible with the software your trying to run. Or your computer just cant take it on.

    Hi,

    The first thing to do is to make sure that you have the sound driver installed.

    What operating system are you using and what is the sound card on that pc?
